Privacy policy

Omorya helps a family keep an older relative's memories: every week their phone asks them a question, they answer out loud, and the answer becomes a written story the family can read, listen to, correct and finally gather into a book.

Consent: nobody is recorded without knowing. Before starting, the narrator's phone explains what is recorded, who will see it and that an AI tidies up the text, and it only starts if they tap «I agree». They can skip any question, delete any answer or stop at any time.

What we keep: family members' mobile numbers (to sign in with an SMS code), names, language and role; the narrator's name, optional phone number, language, time zone and when they agreed; the recordings, their text, the written stories, corrections and photos; each device's push token and app version. No contacts or location. No ads, trackers or analytics; we don't sell data.

AI: speech is turned into text on the iPhone (Apple's speech recognition), or on our own server for answers recorded in a browser — the voice is never sent to another company. Only the text is sent to Anthropic (Claude) to tidy it up without changing the narrator's words and, if the family asks, to translate it; Anthropic doesn't train on this data.

Stored encrypted on our server, with a different key for each family. Narrators without an iPhone get the week's question by SMS with a link to answer from a browser. Each chapter of the book has a QR code to hear that story in the narrator's voice; it stops working if the story is deleted.

Shared with: the family members invited, Anthropic (text only), Apple (notifications and payments) and the SMS provider (Twilio). Our server is in the European Union.

How long: stories are kept while the family exists, also after a subscription ends. Deleting your account in Settings erases your data and the families you created, with all their stories and recordings.
